Simplot French Fry Feed & Rydell’s Fireworks

2011 FRENCH FRY FEED SETS NEW RECORD!

OVER TWO AND A HALF TONS OF FRENCH FRIES WERE SERVED  AT UNIVERSITY PARK IN GRAND FORKS ON THE EVENING OF SEPTEMBER 22, 2011.  5,010 POUNDS TO BE EXACT!  THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD SET IN 2008 BY 120 POUNDS.  THANKS TO SCOTT LUND AND HIS CREW FROM THE J.R. SIMPLOT COMPANY, AND TO ALL THOSE THAT TURNED OUT TO HELP US BREAK THE RECORD!

The world’s largest French Fry Feed in University Park and a Fireworks Show at Memorial Stadium top the list of events in Grand Forks on the evening of September 22nd, but there is much, much more!

Activities begin at University Park a half hour earlier this year at 4:30 PM.  French fries will be served until dusk when we make the short walk to Memorial Stadium to watch the fireworks!
Up to 10,000 people attend this event every year!  Make it an evening to celebrate the potato, the Fighting Sioux, and friendships of those around you!
